Phil Blackwell has been blind for more than thirty years when he lost his sight due to optic nerve atrophy while serving in the US Navy.  “Losing my sight in itself was a traumatic experience,” says Phil.  “I had to make decisions at that point if I was going to continue moving forward or just stay in bed.”  Staying in bed is hard to imagine today considering his record of success.  “I made that decision one day.  It’s a sighted world and I was going to be part of it.”
